India Systems Development Lab (ISDL) is a key part of IBM's global Systems technology development network. Established in 1996, ISDL is headquartered in Bengaluru-India's Silicon Valley and startup capital-with additional locations in Pune and Hyderabad. The lab's developers contribute to innovations across the entire IBM Systems portfolio, including IBM Z, Power/OpenPOWER Systems, and Storage.

ISDL teams work across the full technology stack, from processor design and firmware to operating systems and software-defined storage. The lab fosters a culture of innovation, driven by the creativity and expertise of its engineers, and has filed over 400 patents in advanced technologies to date.

Your role and responsibilities

We are a team of firmware professionals dedicated to developing cutting-edge solutions on IBM Z systems. Our mission is to deliver the most secure platforms for enterprise application deployment. Through Secure Service Containers, we empower IBM LinuxONE customers with on-premise, customer-managed container solutions that ensure robust data protection and safeguard against insider threats. Additionally, we enhance the deployment experience with the Dynamic Partition Manager (DPM), a streamlined configuration tool designed to simplify and accelerate the setup of Linux servers on mainframe systems.

You will contribute to building the world's most secure computing systems using IBM Z technology. Your work will help customers deploy their applications securely and efficiently, while also enabling cloud-native solutions that defend against cyber threats and simplify the enablement process.

Required technical and professional expertise

8+ years of relevant industry experience.
Strong programming skills in C/C++
Expertise in OS concepts, Container technologies, Security, Virtualization Management, REST API, App Dev on Cloud Platform, DevOps (Continuous Integration)
Domain knowledge on Networking, Transport Layer Security(TLS),NTP, PTP
Good communication skills and be able to work effectively in a global team environment.

Preferred technical and professional experience

Z Systems experience, Private Cloud knowledge, Exposure to Catalog Services, Micro Services. Prior experience / exposure to Storage, Networking and Security would be an added advantage
