Join our Backend Team and help architect the AI-driven foundation of Cisco Cloud Control, the platform that unifies and powers Cisco’s cloud ecosystem. In this role, you’ll work hands-on across diverse technology stacks, services, and domains ranging from distributed systems and microservices to data pipelines, observability, and platform automation.
Your impact
As a Backend Engineer, you will:

• Design and deliver both functional and non-functional backend features.
• Mentor and guide junior developers, promoting best practices.
• Drive sophisticated product integrations and AI-native solutions across Cisco’s portfolio.
• Collaborate with frontend and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless end-to-end delivery.
• Build and maintain scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend services that support global enterprise users.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on backend development experience.
• Strong experience with AWS and monitoring/observability tools (ELK, Splunk, Datadog).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written).
• A collaborative, solution-oriented mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with frontend technologies.
• Experience with Go, Java, Node.js, or Rust.
• Knowledge of AI tools, frameworks, or methodologies.
• Passion for building scalable, reliable, and maintainable backend systems.
• Experience mentoring or coaching other developers
