Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Urban Planner (Saudi National) to join our team!

What You'll Be Doing:

• Leads planning efforts for residential and mixed-use housing projects, including site selection, land use analysis, and integration with transportation and infrastructure systems.

  
  
  

• Conducts housing needs assessments, demographic studies, and affordability analyses to inform policy and project design.

  
  
  

• Develops recommendations and strategic plans based on housing policies, zoning regulations, land use frameworks, and community development goals.

  
  
  

• Coordinates with governmental agencies, developers, and community stakeholders to ensure alignment with national housing strategies and local urban development plans.

  
  
  

• Prepares and facilitates public engagement sessions, workshops, and charrettes focused on housing issues, ensuring inclusive and equitable participation.

  
  
  

• Oversees and mentors junior planners and technical staff, providing guidance on housing-focused planning methodologies and tools.

  
  
  

• Reviews and evaluates development proposals for compliance with housing regulations, density targets, and sustainability standards.

  
  
  

• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

  
  
  

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, Housing Policy, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

  
  
  

• Minimum of 8+ years of experience in urban planning.

  
  
  

• Additional certifications in housing policy, sustainable development, or real estate planning are advantageous.

  
  
  

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

• Deep knowledge of urban housing policy, residential land use planning, and community development practices.

  
  
  

• Sustainability certificate or relevant experience in sustainable urban planning is mandatory

  
  
  

• Strong analytical skills in housing market analysis, population forecasting, and socio-economic data interpretation.

  
  
  

• Proficiency in planning software such as GIS, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and housing simulation tools.

  
  
  

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in preparing housing strategy reports, policy briefs, and stakeholder presentations.

  
  
  

• Thorough understanding of local and international housing regulations, building codes, and environmental sustainability standards.

  
  
  

• Ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
