Purpose


Managing the credit policy process through driving the policy formation and implementation strategy for all loan products. Partner with the business stakeholders to grow the portfolios and help in building a scalable, consistent and quality portfolio.


Contribute to setting up strategic goal and agenda for consumer lending policies and drive the achievement of the consumer risk strategic plan.


Description


1. Oversees the policy management process including formulating, authorizing and updating Credit Policies across all assigned Products/ business lines, in addition to managing document renewals and ensuring all systems of record are updated timely.


2. Collaborate with key stakeholders in various areas (portfolio monitoring, business lines, front liners, credit underwriting) to identify areas of opportunity and spearhead initiatives in order to enable profitable growth while minimizing credit risk exposure.


3. Work closely with the Portfolio Monitoring Managers on using credit analysis techniques to address the significant risks and take appropriate actions to adjust policies accordingly.


4. Develop a proactive policy management process by using tools embedded in the early warning and watch-listing framework to make policy amendments on timely manner.


5. Evaluate on a regular basis competitiveness of policies within the market and recommend changes as necessary for meeting business budgets.


6. Collaborate with business Product Managers in optimizing marketing campaigns used in acquisitions that align with the credit policies and scoring models.


7. Ensure timely implementation and proper testing of credit policy rules on the decision engine ensuring its effectiveness and efficiency.


8. Monitor thoroughly the newly introduced policies in terms of effectiveness and credit quality, and maintain policy change chronology.


9. Design policies that caters different segments’ needs, defines risk segmentation, loss expectations and risk premium to support risk adjusted pricing.


10. Prepare related management reporting packages and provide insights on root causes, emerging credit trends and implications on allowance for loan losses.


11. Provide comprehensive action plans to manage adverse trends and red flags detected by the Portfolio Management team affecting the portfolio quality and profitability along with corrective actions to be taken accordingly.


12. Identify required data and work with Portfolio Managers to understand data source, ensure data quality and retrieve data on a timely basis to ensure quality of Policy Decisions.


13. Coordinate with the Scoring Team in reviewing and validating of developed application and behaviour scorecards for Personal Loans to ensure models effectiveness & predictive power.


14. Managing exceptional approvals requests submitted from sourcing channels & CAF within the approved delegated authorities along with monthly monitoring for deviations performance to report any adverse trends for the exceptional approved portfolio.


15. Preparation of the different Risk Committees’ reports (The Consumer Risk Committee and the Board Risk Committee) including policy changes, adverse trends & action points presented to the committee members.


16. Collaborate and request feedback from the Fraud Management team on all fraudulent incidents to amend all policies accordingly mitigating any future possible fraud risks

17. Participate in the formulation and implementation of the department strategy to ensure the alignment with CIB strategy


Policies, Processes and Procedure


18. Participate and recommend improvements to policies, processes and procedures and manage their implementation to ensure all relevant procedural / legislative requirements are fulfilled


Day- to-day operations


19. Follow the day-to-day operations related to own jobs in the Consumer Credit Policy Department to ensure continuity of work


Compliance:


20. Comply with all relevant CBE regulations, banking laws, AML regulations and internal CIB policies and code of conduct in order to maintain CIB’s sound legal position and mitigate any potential risks




Qualifications

Qualifications:


o Bachelor’s degree of Commerce, Business Administration, Accounting or of related field.


o Minimum of 7-8 years’ experience in Consumer Banking.


Skills:


o Solid credit policy experience having policy experience with different products i.e. consumer loans.


o Excellent command of English language beside Arabic.


o Self-motivated and strong interpersonal skills in order to actively lead and implement ideas in a cross-functional team environment.


o Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.


o Have sound knowledge of the Egyptian market in terms of risks associated with the Consumer Banking products.


o Self-motivated, team player, excellent soft skills, leadership skills, quantitative and qualitative analysis and decision-making skills, etc.


o Computer aptitude including good knowledge of Microsoft office suite programs.
