Job Description

We are seeking a visionary and analytical Commercial Director to lead our commercial engine. In this pivotal role, you will unify and drive the Sales, Reservations, Marketing, and Revenue Management departments. You will be responsible for designing the strategies that maximize occupancy and yield while shifting focus toward direct-to-consumer growth. You will serve as the bridge between market demand and operational delivery, ensuring our cruisers remain the preferred choice for partners and travellers alike.


Key Responsibilities


1. Strategic Leadership & Team Management


  • Holistic Oversight: Provide executive leadership for the Sales, Reservations, Marketing, and Revenue Management teams, fostering a culture of high performance and accountability.
  • Talent Development: Mentor, train, and develop department heads and team members. Identify skill gaps and implement training programs to build a best-in-class commercial workforce.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ensure seamless cooperation with Hotel Operations and Marine departments to guarantee that commercial promises align with the onboard guest experience.

2. Revenue Maximization & Strategy


  • Revenue Management: Develop and implement robust revenue management strategies to optimize pricing, inventory, and yield across all distribution channels.
  • Sales Strategy: Design and execute comprehensive sales plans targeting both B2B (trade partners) and B2C (direct) segments to achieve occupancy and revenue targets.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize analytical tools to monitor market trends, competitor activity, and forecasting data to make agile business decisions.

3. Marketing & Direct-to-Traveler Growth


  • D2C Focus: Spearhead marketing strategies and campaigns with a specific emphasis on growing the "Direct to Traveler" business, reducing cost of acquisition, and owning the guest relationship from the booking stage.
  • Brand Presence: Oversee digital marketing, social media, and content strategies to elevate the brand profile of the cruisers globally.

4. Operations & Relationships


  • Reservations Excellence: Oversee the reservations department to ensure processes are efficient, accurate, and customer-centric, minimizing conversion loss.
  • Key Account Management: Develop, maintain, and nurture professional relationships with key accounts (Wholesalers, Tour Operators, OTAs) and corporate partners to secure consistent base business.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a senior commercial role within the Hospitality, Cruise, or Travel industry.
  • Leadership: Proven track record of leading multi-disciplinary teams (Sales, Marketing, Revenue) to success.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong data literacy with the ability to interpret complex reports, P&L statements, and market data to drive strategy.
  • Strategic Mindset: Ability to transition between high-level strategic planning and hands-on operational problem-solving.
  • Communication: Exceptional negotiation and interpersonal skills; fluent in English (additional languages are a plus).
  • Tech Savvy: Familiarity with PMS (Property Management Systems), CRS, and Revenue Management software.
