About the role


Careem is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Lead to join our Finance team. This role is based in Egypt and will support key accounting, reporting, receivables, and financial operations across the organization, including Careem for Business (C4B).


 
what the you'll do
  • Maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries, ledgers, and supporting schedules.
  • Perform regular bank, AP, and AR reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Support C4B (Careem for Business) financial operations, including tracking receivables, validating billing, and coordinating with internal teams and clients for timely collections.
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with internal standards.
  • Monitor and record company expenses, ensuring compliance with internal controls and documentation requirements.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, vendor interactions, customer follow-ups, and addressing outstanding receivables.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
  • Contribute to process improvements and support automation initiatives using Excel, Power BI, or SQL.
  • Maintain organized financial documentation and assist with general accounting administrative tasks.
 
what you'll need
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, and general ledger processes.
  • Experience with accounting software or ERP systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with Power BI or SQL is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including commercial and C4B teams.
  • Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and commitment to high-quality work.
  • Proficiency in English is required.
  • 3–4 years of experience in accounting and financial reporting.
  • Background with a Big Four firm or a top multinational is preferred.
  • Professional qualifications such as CA or ACCA are an advantage.
  • Solid understanding of financial controls, compliance, and accounting best practices.
  • Experience handling receivables, client billing, or commercial finance is a strong plus.
