Job Description

  • Manage kitchen stock, equipment, and ingredients, ensuring proper handling and safety precautions.
  • Master basic cooking methods, prepare mis-en-place, and create dishes according to standard recipes whilst maintaining portion control and minimising wastage.
  • Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP) in all aspects of food production and storage.
  • Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and work areas, promptly reporting any hazards or maintenance requirements to the supervisor.
  • Assist in food preparation and cooking under the guidance of senior chefs, demonstrating a willingness to learn and improve culinary skills.
  • Support in menu planning and development of new dishes, contributing creative ideas and techniques when appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate records of food stock and assist in inventory management, ensuring optimal levels of ingredients and supplies.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth service operations, fostering a positive team environment.
  • Participate in ongoing culinary training and skill development programmes to enhance professional growth and kitchen efficiency.

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:


Minimum 1-2 years Experience required
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
Ability to work cohesively and collectively as part of a team
