Role Overview
The Workday Reporting Analyst is a key member of the ES Data Operations team, based in Hyderabad. This role is critical for providing timely, accurate, and actionable data insights to stakeholders across the organization using the Workday platform. The successful candidate will serve as the subject matter expert for Workday reporting, managing the full lifecycle of reporting requests—from understanding stakeholder needs to the creation, maintenance, scheduling, and troubleshooting of reports. Our focus is building and delivering an amazing employee data experience, ensuring data integrity, compliance, and leveraging the Workday system to its full potential for operational success.
Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Workday Reporting Analyst include but are not limited to the following:
  • Design and Development:Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of Workday Custom Reports, including Advanced, Matrix, and Composite reports to meet diverse business requirements.
  • Calculated Fields:Utilize and troubleshoot Workday Calculated Fields to enhance report functionality and complexity.
  • Report Maintenance:Proactively maintain, update, and modify existing Workday reports to align with business process changes, system updates (Workday biannual releases), and data structure modifications.
  • Scheduling:Manage the distribution of reports, ensuring accurate and compliant access control. Configure and monitor report schedules for timely delivery.
  • Troubleshooting:Serve as the primary point of contact for resolving report discrepancies, performance issues, and access failures within the Workday reporting framework.
  • Data Analysis:Conduct analysis on HR data sets to identify patterns, and anomalies, providing valuable insights.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:Work collaboratively with global ES, DET, and functional teams to understand data requirements, validate report outputs, and ensure alignment with data governance policies.
  • Process Improvement:Proactively identify and recommend process improvements and automation opportunities within the reporting function, driving efficiency and enhancing the overall employee experience.
  • Documentation & Compliance:Maintain accurate and comprehensive internal process documentation. Ensure strict compliance with all data regulations and internal audit requirements.
Required Skills and Experience
  • 4+ years of work experience in an HR Data/Workday Reporting role.
  • Workday Reporting (Critical):
    • Expert proficiencyin using Workday Report Writer, particularly Advanced, Matrix, and Composite reports.
    • Deep expertise in creating and maintaining complexWorkday Calculated Fieldsfor reporting.
    • Understanding of Workday HCM and other functional areas (e.g., Absence, Talent, Payroll) data sources and business objects.
    • Familiarity with Workday security administration as it pertains to reporting roles.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, advanced formulas) is essential.
  • Strong commitment to data integrity, governance, and understanding of data privacy requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the proven ability to present complex data findings to non-technical audiences.
  • Exceptional time management, organizational, prioritization, and follow-up skills.
  • Proven problem-solving skills, highly detail-oriented, and solutions-oriented approach.
  • Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality in all aspects of job responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-paced, dynamic, and collaborative team environment.
