The RoleAs a Power Systems Engineer, you will contribute to the technical delivery of Energy Management System (EMS) and Generation Management System (GMS) projects. Working with AspenTech OSI’s Monarch platform, you’ll engage with customers across the globe to configure, model, and optimise real-time energy control systems. This is a hands-on role ideal for candidates with experience in energy software, power system analysis, or adjacent utility technology domains.Your Impact
  • Work directly with customers to define requirements for advanced control systems.
  • Understand project requirements through interactions with project engineering and other stakeholders and design solutions to meet these requirements.
  • Carry out power system modelling, Analysis, and electrical design aspects of projects from the feasibility stage through implementation and operations.
  • Design and develop custom applications to meet project requirements.
  • Design the theoretical algorithms and their software implementation.
  • Create test plans and procedures and perform testing for product releases including unit (module by module) and algorithm proof testing.
  • Provide applications programming support for other Engineering departments.
  • Provide training and support for end users.
What You'll Need
  • Bachelors or master’s degree in Power Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related streams, or equivalent years of relevant experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience (or less with an advanced degree) in Power System Analysis and Energy Management Systems, or adjacent experience in electric utilities, SCADA, or power automation domains.
  • Solid understanding of control room use cases and electric utility operations.
  • Experience with electrical utility control systems (SCADA, EMS, GMS, DMS, OMS, DERMS) or experience working in utility operations or engineering support is good to have.
  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming (C# or Python); SQL knowledge is good to have.
  • Experience with network modelling and simulation tools such as PSSE, Power Factory, ETAP or similar is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to travel based on project requirements.
