Development of mechanical auxiliaries for new products: Development of gearbox and its arrangement concepts, couplings and its arrangements, rotor turning devices and its arrangements Lube oil systems, Control & trip oil systems, Gland/Leak steam systems, Drain systems, condenser, condensate and evacuation and other mechanical systems. Taking care of the different deliverables e.g. PIDs, technical data, system description, speci?cations, quality plan, technical guidelines, tender calculations etc. Develop new R&D concepts and schemes based on new design to cost ideas, study and compare competitors design, prepare R&D drawings & documents, system houses, ensure correctness of documentation in line with guidelines and customer speci?cations, interface with customers / consultants for technical discussions & approvals, report progress (including risks ) and key issues to superiors in order to meet R&D project schedules / milestones. 2. Planning and Review: Plan and review mechanical auxiliaries activities, Interfacing with R&D global experts, other engineering groups and collaborators/cooperation partners and Interface with customer / consultants in order to ensure timely completion of milestones. 3. Project Management Support: Provide R&D support to PM on technical issues and support in cost control to meet the contract requirements and keep the project within cost. 4. Supply Management Support: Interact with vendors and supply chain personnel to freeze the speci?cations and technical requirements (pre order and post order) to meet the customer / contract requirements 5. Quality Management: Establish process/equipment documentation including speci?cation for performance testing, work instructions and inspection and test requirements to ensure implementation of Quality requirements of the process/equipment 6. Cost Reduction: Standardize the speci?cations and purchase requirements / engineering of equipment/ activities to achieve reduction in engineering hours and/or better costs. What do I need to qualify for this job? BE / B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering 6-8 years prior experience in R&D / Engineering as mechanical auxiliaries engineer in Steam Turbine industry. Sound Technical knowhow of Steam turbine auxiliaries and its functionality. Knowledge of Design Tools like AutoCAD, NX, Team Center, COMOS. Hands-on experience of creating PIDs, GAs, speci?cations, SAP Thorough knowledge of turbine startup cycle, deaerator selection, wander control valve, sealing system. Working knowledge of I&C and electrical products and their interface with mechanical systems. Proper site exposure and thorough understanding of commissioning activities. Good rapport with vendors and customers. What else do I need to know?
