Job description

Meet the Team

Join Cisco’s SD-WAN vAnalytics team as a Software Engineer and help shape the future of cloud-based analytics. You’ll collaborate with talented colleagues to build and scale Cisco vAnalytics—a platform delivering deep insights into application and network performance across global SD-WAN fabrics. If you’re passionate about innovation, cloud infrastructure, and making a real impact for customers worldwide, we’d love to have you on our diverse and dynamic team.

Your Impact

As a Software Data Engineer, you will invent, build, and optimize real-time data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows using AWS services and Amazon Redshift. You’ll ensure our data infrastructure is reliable, scalable, and high performing to support business analytics. Key responsibilities include developing and automating data pipelines, optimizing data models and Redshift schemas, managing AWS data lakes and warehouses, and championing data quality, security, and best practices. You’ll also collaborate across teams and mentor others to foster a culture of innovation and excellence.

Minimum Qualifications (Required)

8+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on AWS cloud-based solutions and Redshift

  • Strong programming skills in Python and SQL, with hands-on expertise in building and optimizing data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes
  • Proven ability to model, integrate, and optimize structured and semi-structured data (e.g., JSON, Parquet) within AWS-based data lakes and Redshift
  • Collaborative teammate with experience in Agile/Scrum environments

Good to have (Optional)

  • Experience with orchestration tools (Airflow, Step Functions), CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and containerization (Docker); familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
