About the Role
As a Software Engineer II on the enterprise-wide Data Platform team, you will focus on automating infrastructure, streamlining deployment processes, and improving system reliability. You’ll work closely with senior engineers to build and maintain DevOps pipelines, monitor distributed systems, and support platform operations using technologies like NiFi, Spark, MinIO, Kubernetes, Airflow, and cloud-native tools.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and testing of data platform components.
Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using tools like Chef, XLR etc.
Monitor system health and performance using Dynatrace, Splunk, and custom alerting mechanisms.
Assist in container orchestration and workflow automation using Kubernetes and Airflow.
Support platform upgrades, patching, and incident response activities.
Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure smooth integration and delivery.
Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing around DevOps practices and automation workflows.

Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git).
Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Chef, XLR, ansible).
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerization (Docker).
Exposure to workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow.
Basic understanding of distributed data systems (e.g., NiFi, Spark).
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python).
Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Dynatrace, Splunk).
Experience with Chef for infrastructure automation and configuration management.
