Job Description SummaryAs a Senior Manager - Manufacturing Tools & Fixture design you will be at the forefront of aerospace innovation. In this dynamic role, you will design and develop essential tools and fixtures for the manufacturing and assembly of aerospace components, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).Job DescriptionSite Overview:

Our Multi-modal Manufacturing Facility (MMF) in Pune plays a crucial role in manufacturing key aerospace components, supporting not only India’s defense and commercial sectors but also global aviation supply chains. Our relationships with Indian suppliers, combined with our world-class local facilities and global reach, continue to shape India’s aerospace ecosystem.


Roles Overview:


  • Manage the Tool room operations and provide Fixtures/tools support to production team


  • Design, Develop new tools (Tubing, Press Tools, Fixtures) and Low cost automation solutions to support NPI and production.


  • Establish new capabilities - Additive manufacturing, Simulations, and build strong supply chain to meet future needs.


  • Provide technical support to recover fixtures/tools deviations.


  • Provide dispositions for fixture non-conformance and develop low cost automation solutions to support productivity and quality improvements.


  • Support Robotics and Automations programs for Tubes & Ducts by developing necessary tools and fixtures and participate in projects.


  • Calculations and target settings of tools for all current and new processes, s 


  • Evaluation and modification in tools as suggested by the development department.


  • Dimensioning and optimization of current serial processes and new processes (tooling and process concepts). 


  • Preparation of concept proposals regarding part design and part production regarding available procedures in the market.


The Ideal Candidate:

An experienced Tool & Fixtures Design Engineer with a strong Technical background in aerospace Tools & Fixtures design, development, deployment.


Skilled in GD&T, Design Standards, Stage Gate processes, and proficient in using Unigraphics, Catia, AutoCAD and digital tools.


Required Qualifications:
  • BE/B Tech / ME/ M Tech in Mechanical, Production, or Tool Engineering.


  • PG Qualification / specialization in Tool Design is preferred.


  • 10-15 years of experience, with 8-10 years in fixture design, press tool design, machining fixtures, tool calibration, and maintenance.


  • Hands-on experience in the design and manufacture tools using UG, CATIA.


  • Proficiency in reading engineering drawings (GD&T) and solid modeling software.


  • Experience in the aviation, general manufacturing, or automotive industry.


  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train colleagues and operators.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Understanding on Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Methodologies
