The RoleWe are seeking a senior-level DevOps/Python Programmer with deep expertise in data transformation and visualization to lead the development of advanced tools supporting SCADA and database conversion systems within our Digital Grid Management. This role focuses on designing intuitive, scalable solutions that empower project engineers to work efficiently with XML and CIM documents—without requiring programming knowledge.Your Impact

• Lead the design and development of Python-based tools for converting and mapping flat files and structured data (XML, CIM) into custom database formats.
• Architect intuitive UI tools that allow non-programmers to modify and manage XML and CIM documents effectively.
• Implement and optimize ETL processes to support scalable data transformation and integration workflows.
• Partner with project engineers, product managers, and customers to gather requirements and translate them into high-quality, functional software tools.
• Guide the integration of RESTful APIs and other interfaces with industrial applications such as Display Builder, ensuring alignment with system architecture and business needs.
• Establish and promote development best practices, documentation standards, and testing protocols across the team.
• Lead code reviews, sprint planning, and agile development processes, ensuring consistent delivery of reliable and maintainable solutions.

What You'll Need

• Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in object-oriented programming (Python, Java, C++, C#).
• 7+ years of experience in web-based programming (JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, XML, JSON, CSV).
• 3+ Years working with a SCADA and/or ADMS system to operate and analyze the grid
• 5+ Years of Experience with North American Power Distribution Networks
• Or 5+ Years of Expereience with European Distribution Networks
• Proven experience with flat file conversions, XML/CIM data transformation, and ETL tools.
• Demonstrated success in designing user interfaces and evolving tools based on user feedback.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to solve unique and complex challenges.
• Strong time management and independent decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to convey difficult technical concepts and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
• Proficiency in creating technical documentation, diagrams, flowcharts, and infographics to support stakeholder understanding and alignment.
