Position Overview:



We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Technology Manager to support our B2B business, specifically in the technical design and application of oxidation catalysts portfolio. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving sustainable growth and ensuring that our customers receive the most competitive and effective solutions tailored to their unique processes.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Technical Design and Solutions: Collaborate with our customers and internal stakeholders viz chemists and engineers to select and develop the optimal technical designs for the oxidation catalysts portfolio relevant to customer processes. Ensure that these designs are competitive and aligned with market needs.
  • Customer Support : Proactively provide catalyst customers with professional services that includes supervision of catalyst filling, plant start-up, troubleshooting, and technical consultation. Aim to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through exceptional service delivery.
  • Performance Warranty Development: Create comprehensive performance warranty offerings, which include value-price proposals that effectively communicate the benefits and reliability of our Oxidation catalysts.
  • Product Launch and R&D Integration: Work closely with the global marketing and technology team to launch new products into the market. Drive research and development initiatives to ensure the continual evolution and improvement of our catalyst technologies.
  • Technical Consultation: Provide customers with expert technical consultation on catalyst applications, including performance analyses and optimization. Prepare and update operational manuals and procedures for the respective products (Oxidation and Dehydrogenation Catalysts).
  • Documentation and Reporting: Develop technical procedures and guidelines for new catalyst developments and applications in alignment with R&D. Maintain regular contact with customers in the region to collect, file, and keep records of operational data and quality documentation.
  • Representation at Events: Act as a key representative of BASF at industry conferences and customer events, promoting our technology leadership in Oxidation catalysts and engaging with industry stakeholders to expand our network and influence.
  • Customer Engagement: Partner with the Global Marketing Manager and Commercial Account Managers to ensure that we comprehensively meet customer needs, gathering feedback and insights to inform future product developments and enhancements.

Qualifications:



  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of technical experience in the chemical industry, particularly with processes related to Phthalic Anhydride and Maleic Anhydride catalysts.
  • 3 years of experience in chemical plant operations with a focus on direct technical support.
  • Experience in catalyst technology is desirable.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills in English, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (>50%) in the region to meet with customers and provide on-site support.
  • Strong commitment to customer satisfaction and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
