We are looking for a Research Engineer Introduction With over 1,900 researchers worldwide, the Technology organization occupies a special position within Siemens' R&D facilities. It functions as an international network of expertise and as a global partner for technology and innovations. Through its R&D activities in Germany, the USA, China, India, Russia and Eastern Europe, Technology helps secure the company's technological future and bolster its competitiveness. You’ll create impact by: · PhD or master’s degree in computer science or a related field from a reputed institute. · Minimum 10+ years of hands-on experience in designing and solving complex problems, with a strong focus on deriving actionable insights. You’d describe yourself as: · Shown experience in training deep convolutional and/or recurrent neural networks using frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Caffe. · Strong proficiency in OpenCV and OpenGL. · Experience in research, development, and prototyping of software for: Ø Object detection and tracking Ø Semantic segmentation Ø Action recognition Ø 3D reconstruction Ø SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) · Experience working with multimodal data (audio, video, text, sensors, etc.) and identifying efficient technologies for prototyping and productization. · Deep understanding of image processing, computer vision, and video analytics, with the ability to implement relevant algorithms, especially deep learning-based methods. Soft Skills (Must-Have): · Ability to detail technical information clearly and concisely for customer discussions. · Strong interpersonal skills to engage with customers, understand difficulties, translate them into technical requirements, and propose state-of-the-art solutions. · Awareness of emerging technology trends and research landscape, with the ability to foresee their application in Siemens offerings. Nice to Have: · Knowledge of SaaS fundamentals. · Experience in solution build, architecture, and software packaging using Docker/Kubernetes, with deployment on cloud platforms. · Collaborative perspective to work with multi-functional teams from ideation to prototyping, and present solutions to business collaborators. · Ability to influence technology choices and remove barriers to adoption. · Passion for staying updated with the latest developments in AI and being an early adopter of radical technologies.
