Summery: The Project Planner is responsible for developing, updating, and maintaining time schedules for construction projects to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
The role involves coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to reflect accurate progress, anticipate delays, and support decision-making through professional planning tools and techniques.
Job Duties: Prepare, develop, and maintain project baseline schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
Develop Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), define activities, durations, sequences, and resource allocations.
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and site teams to gather schedule input.
Monitor actual progress against planned timelines and update project schedules accordingly.
Perform delay analysis and recommend recovery and mitigation strategies.
Issue weekly and monthly schedule updates, look-ahead reports, and highlight risks.
Support planning input in Extension of Time (EOT) claims and contractual documentation.
Track progress, manpower, equipment, and material deliveries aligned with schedule.
Integrate cost and resource loading into schedules when required.
Liaise with project managers and site engineers to validate progress data.
Identify and assess scheduling risks and propose corrective measures.
Maintain documentation of all planning-related changes and approvals.
Participate in progress meetings and present schedule status to internal/external stakeholders.
Assist in the preparation of project control reports for internal and client use.
Ensure planning compliance with contract requirements and company procedures.
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in project scheduling for construction projects, preferably EPC or large-scale building projects.
Proven experience in developing and maintaining schedules using Primavera P6.
Experience with delay analysis, EOT, and contractual support is preferred.
