Job description

Our client is a digitally native, design-forward agency that blends strategy, UX/UI, development, and marketing to create modern, scalable digital solutions. With a remote team and hubs outside Philadelphia and Atlanta, they thrive in fast-paced environments and deliver high-quality web, mobile, and platform experiences. Their culture values detail-oriented execution, seamless UX, and development work that drives measurable impact.

Location

Fully remote | 9 AM - 5 PM EST

Role Overview

The Full Stack WordPress Developer will build, maintain, and optimize WordPress-based websites across a wide range of digital experiences. This is a hands-on development role focused on clean code, performance, responsiveness, and practical collaboration with designers, developers, and project managers. The Developer will work within established agency workflows and contribute to high-quality releases without team management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

WordPress Development

  • Develop and maintain WordPress websites from scratch using custom themes and page builders (e.g., Elementor).

  • Extend and customize themes beyond admin-level modifications.

  • Configure and integrate off-the-shelf plugins as needed.

Front-End Development

  • Build pixel-perfect, responsive interfaces using HTML5, CSS3, SCSS, and modern JavaScript (ES6+).

  • Ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility.

  • Translate designer assets from Figma, Photoshop, or Adobe XD into clean, efficient code.

Back-End & Integrations

  • Work with PHP and MySQL to support site functionality and data management.

  • Integrate third-party services and APIs, including CRM tools, analytics platforms, and email systems.

  • Occasionally develop marketing emails and digital banners.

Collaboration & Workflow

  • Communicate effectively in English through Slack and Asana.

  • Participate in code reviews, deployments, version control processes, and ongoing maintenance.

  • Follow established QA, testing, and documentation standards.

Qualifications

Experience

  • 3–5 years of professional WordPress development experience, preferably within agency or freelance environments.

  • Proven ability to build, launch, and maintain custom WordPress websites.

  • Strong background in PHP, WordPress theme development, and MySQL.

  • Experience integrating third-party plugins and services, with no expectation for regular custom plugin development.

  • Familiarity with WordPress REST API and basic headless CMS concepts.

  • Working knowledge of Git/GitHub and deployment workflows.

  • Experience extracting assets from Figma, Photoshop, or Adobe XD.

  • Previous experience working in fast-paced agency settings is strongly preferred.

Skills

  • Strong front-end development abilities (HTML5, CSS3, SCSS, JavaScript/ES6+).

  • Ability to deliver clean, scalable, and maintainable code.

  • Comfortable managing multiple tasks and shifting priorities within agency workflows.

  • Strong English reading and writing comprehension for internal collaboration.

  • Ability to follow structured QA, documentation, and version control processes.

  • Bonus skills: experience coding marketing emails, familiarity with component-based systems or JS frameworks (e.g., Vue, Alpine.js), and experience with Pharma/Healthcare digital projects.

Opportunity

This is an opportunity to join a design-led, development-focused agency building modern digital experiences for a diverse set of clients. You’ll work on high-impact projects, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to polished, scalable websites. If you thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy hands-on WordPress development, this role offers autonomy, variety, and room to grow.
