Job Description

Raffles the Red Sea is seeking an experienced and visionary Assistant Director of Engineering to join our team in Umluj, Saudi Arabia. This key leadership role will be responsible for overseeing all engineering operations and maintenance activities for our luxurious resort, ensuring the highest standards of quality and guest satisfaction.


  • Lead and manage the engineering team, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for engineering operations, maintenance, and sustainability initiatives
  • Oversee all engineering projects, including new installations, renovations, and upgrades
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards
  • Collaborate with other departments to optimize guest experiences and operational efficiency
  • Manage budgets, resource allocation, and cost-control measures for the engineering department
  • Implement and maintain quality control and assurance programs for all engineering systems and processes
  • Stay current with industry trends and innovative technologies to enhance resort operations
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, contractors, and regulatory agencies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical); Master's degree in Engineering Management or related field preferred
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in engineering management, preferably in luxury hospitality settings
  • Proven track record of successful project delivery and team leadership
  • Strong knowledge of sustainable engineering practices and Middle Eastern building codes and regulations
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Advanced problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Proficiency in engineering design and analysis software
  • Experience in budgeting, financial planning, and resource allocation
  • Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement in engineering operations
  • Flexibility to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
