The Senior Civil Engineer will play a key role within the PMO, overseeing and reviewing all civil design-related activities across the project lifecycle. The role requires extensive expertise in civil and structural design, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and client requirements while supporting project planning, coordination, and delivery.
Lead, review, and supervise civil/structural design activities for infrastructure and building projects within the PMO framework.
Ensure designs comply with local and international standards, codes, and regulations.
Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and support to junior engineers and design consultants.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (architectural, mechanical, electrical, environmental, etc.) to ensure design integration.
Review and approve design drawings, specifications, and technical reports submitted by consultants.
Participate in feasibility studies, design reviews, and value engineering exercises.
Conduct risk assessments related to civil works and propose mitigation measures.
Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities to ensure project approvals.
Support PMO in monitoring design progress, resolving design issues, and ensuring adherence to project schedules.
Provide expert input during tendering, contract management, and construction phases.
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred).
Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in civil/structural design, preferably with exposure to large-scale infrastructure or mixed-use developments.
Professional certification (e.g., PMP, PE, Chartered Engineer) is an advantage.
Strong knowledge of international codes (ACI, BS, Eurocodes, ASTM, etc.) and local regulations.
Proficiency in design software (STAAD Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit).
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work within a PMO environment with a strategic and collaborative approach.
