 Attend the daily departmental meeting/s to update the Manager, Piping regarding the projects progress status and any serious matters in terms of equipment & tools, consumables, and lack of resources preventing the onboard structural team from achieving the projects deadline. Receive and follow the instructions from the Onboard Piping Senior Superintendent regarding priority of the projects and their critical paths by allocating the workshop workforce accordingly.

 Hold daily meeting/s with the piping supervisors to ensure that the onboard man-power works on the right priorities, check the physical progress of the work, provide technical advice.  Develop comprehensive execution/repair plans, including detailed schedules, and resource allocation.

 Provide sound and good knowledge on various types of piping fabrication and repair work onboard the vessels.

 Ensure all repair and maintenance piping works are carried out in accordance with the approved procedures, projects specifications by meeting the required quality standards and regulatory requirements.

 Lead and manage onboard supervisors, foremen, charge-hands, tradesmen including subcontractors to meet the required deadlines of the project.

 Ensure, in conjunction with the Procurement-Supply Chain Group, that all materials and equipment are procured and delivered in accordance with the production and projects contract requirements.

 Ensure effective and consistent interaction with other production superintendents as required.

 Monitor actual man-hours against budgeted man-hours and take appropriate steps to correct overruns. Control the overtime to contribute to the best projects and gross margins.

 Ensure that the onboard supervisors book the correct hours/timesheets to the right project orders and job numbers for a project cost capturing, cost control. Check and monitor the material waste.

 Ensure availability of all necessary piping equipment and tools, to be in good working condition and being properly calibrated without exceeding the expiry date.

 Facilitate training and development of workshop personnel, conduct a trade test whenever it is necessary.

 Accountable for delivery of all Inspection Test Records (ITR’s) under the relevant discipline by effectively delegating them to the team.

 Visit regularly project work onboard the vessels and in workshop, or other open areas where piping fabrication and repair activities are taking place to check on progress and give technical advice and guidance. Ensure all control measures are in place for safety, environmental aspects and housekeeping.

 Perform other relevant tasks as requested by line management.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline or diploma with extensive relevant experience.
