Job description

Careem is building the Everything App for the greater Middle East — making it easy to move around, order food and groceries, manage payments, and more. Our purpose is simple: to simplify and improve people’s lives and build an awesome organisation that inspires.
Since 2012, Careem has enabled earnings for over 2.5 million Captains, simplified the lives of more than 70 million customers, and built a platform where the region’s best talent and entrepreneurs thrive. We operate in 70+ cities across 10 countries, from Morocco to Pakistan.

We’re now entering our next chapter — one powered by AI. We’re looking for AI talent: curious problem-solvers who know how to apply AI to build tools, automate workflows, and create real impact. Whether it’s streamlining operations, enhancing customer experience, or reimagining internal systems — we want people who can make Careem work smarter and move faster.

About the Team
You’ll join the Marketplace product team in Dubai. The team owns core levers that power our delivery businesses across Food, Grocery and Express: Fulfilment, Health (supply–demand balance), ETAs, Routing, and Pricing. We partner closely with Engineering, Data Science, Product Analytics, and Operations to build experiences that are fast, reliable, and cost‑efficient at scale.

About the Role
As a Product Manager II , you will initially focus on the ETAs domain (with potential to rotate into Routing depending on skillset and business need). You will shape strategy, define and deliver roadmaps, and drive measurable impact on pre‑checkout, basket, post‑checkout, and real‑time tracking ETAs across our delivery verticals. The role requires strong problem‑solving, crisp execution, and the ability to work deeply with Data Science and Engineering to turn insights into shipped experiences.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the ETA product strategy and roadmap; align goals and success metrics with Marketplace leadership.
  • Drive discovery and delivery for all ETA surfaces: listing, menu, cart/basket, order confirmation, and live tracking.
  • Partner closely with Data Science to influence model objectives, features, training data recency/weighting, and evaluation; ensure models deliver business‑relevant outcomes (accuracy, competitiveness, on‑time promise adherence).
  • Translate ambiguous problems into clear specs, prioritize ruthlessly, and manage trade‑offs across speed, reliability, and cost.
  • Collaborate with Engineering on technical design and with Operations on rollout/guardrails; ensure high‑quality launches and fast iterations.
  • Instrument, monitor, and explain performance using dashboards and experiments; communicate insights and next steps succinctly.
  • Maintain tight alignment with adjacent domains (Fulfilment, Health, Routing, Pricing) to deliver holistic customer and captain experiences.

What You’ll Need

  • 6–9 years total experience with 3+ years in Product Management, preferably in consumer tech or marketplaces.
  • Analytical thinker with a track record of using data to diagnose issues and drive decisions (comfortable interrogating model/design choices with DS partners).
  • Detail orientation and ownership — able to dive into how solutions are built and see work through to impact across complex stakeholders.
  • Clear written and verbal communication — crisp problem statements, concise docs, and to‑the‑point discussions.
  • Experience working in agile, cross‑functional teams and shipping iterative improvements.

Nice to Have

  • Domain background in hyperlocal logistics / food & grocery delivery / quick commerce.
  • Exposure to routing/ETA problems (e.g., map matching, traffic weighting, distance/time estimation), or to ML‑driven product development.
  • Familiarity with product analytics and experimentation tools; hands‑on coding is not required, but you should be fluent in discussing DS/ML concepts and trade‑offs with specialists.
