Job description

Careem is building the Everything App for the greater Middle East — making it easy to move around, order food and groceries, manage payments, and more. Our purpose is simple: to simplify and improve people’s lives and build an awesome organisation that inspires.
Since 2012, Careem has enabled earnings for over 2.5 million Captains, simplified the lives of more than 70 million customers, and built a platform where the region’s best talent and entrepreneurs thrive. We operate in 70+ cities across 10 countries, from Morocco to Pakistan.

We’re now entering our next chapter — one powered by AI. We’re looking for AI talent: curious problem-solvers who know how to apply AI to build tools, automate workflows, and create real impact. Whether it’s streamlining operations, enhancing customer experience, or reimagining internal systems — we want people who can make Careem work smarter and move faster.

About the Role

The Senior Product Manager will lead the Marketplace Health Squad, responsible for shaping demand and supply dynamics across Careem’s platform. The role focuses on ensuring marketplace balance, operational efficiency, and growth across verticals (Food, Quik, Mobility). The ideal candidate combines deep data fluency, technical rigor, and commercial acumen to design scalable solutions that optimize the core marketplace engine.

What You’ll Do

  • Marketplace Health & Efficiency: Own the health of the supply-demand ecosystem — continuously monitor and improve metrics like fulfillment rate, cancellations, idle supply, and order wait times.

  • Identify and execute levers to dynamically balance demand and supply through pricing, incentives, batching, and allocation algorithms.

  • Partner with analytics and data science teams to develop forecasting, elasticity modeling, and market simulation tools.

  • Demand & Supply Shaping: Build frameworks for demand stimulation (e.g., promos, pricing) and supply activation (e.g., shift planning, guarantees).

  • Collaborate with vertical teams to ensure marketplace strategies align with business and experience goals.

  • Drive initiatives that improve captain utilization, order per hour (OPH), and customer conversion rates.

  • Experimentation & Data Science Integration: Design and run A/B experiments to validate hypotheses across incentive, pricing, and routing domains.

  • Translate complex analytical insights into actionable product strategy; partner closely with Data Science to embed models into real-time systems.

  • Leverage ML-driven approaches for prediction, dynamic decisioning, and optimization at scale.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Align product, engineering, analytics, and operations around a unified Marketplace Health roadmap.

  • Represent marketplace trade-offs in leadership discussions, balancing growth, customer experience, and profitability.

  • Foster a culture of experimentation, transparency, and impact measurement within the squad.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field (MBA preferred).

  • 6–9 years of experience in Product Management, ideally in E-commerce, Ride-hailing, or Quick Commerce.

  • Proven experience in marketplace optimization, dynamic pricing, or incentive systems.

  • Strong exposure to working with Data Science and Engineering teams — comfort with metrics, experimentation, and model-based products.

  • Experience managing high-scale, real-time systems and driving measurable outcomes in ambiguous, high-growth environments.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret complex data into actionable decisions.

  • Familiarity with SQL, experimentation platforms, and data visualization tools (Looker, Tableau, etc.).

  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and execution ownership.

  • Bias for action, outcome-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced cross-functional setup.
