About the role


As a Real Estate Counsel, you will drive impactful contributions and focus on outcomes. You will be a key member of the Legal team, collaborating with Atul Sharma. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Real Estate Counsel to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal support and strategic advice on a broad range of real estate matters, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. This role requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders, external counsel, and government authorities to facilitate complex real estate transactions, resolve disputes, and support business objectives. The position is based in Bangalore/Chennai, and some travel may be required for site visits, negotiations, or hearings. In this role, you will:


- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of real estate agreements, including leases, sale and purchase agreements, joint development agreements, licences, and MOUs.


- Provide legal advice and support on property acquisitions, disposals, leasing, due diligence, and title verification.


- Advise on zoning, land use, RERA compliance, and regulatory matters impacting real estate transactions.


- Manage litigation and dispute resolution related to real estate, including coordinating with external legal counsel as necessary.


- Conduct legal risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate potential risks in real estate transactions.


- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and industry trends, and inform management of relevant changes.


- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and implementing company policies and procedures related to real estate matters.


- Work closely with cross-functional teams, such as project, finance, and compliance departments, to facilitate business growth and operational efficiency.

What you must have to be considered


· Bachelor’s degree in law (LLB) from a reputed institution.


· Minimum 6–8 years of post-qualification experience in real estate law, preferably with a reputed law firm or in-house legal team in the real estate sector.


· Strong knowledge of Indian property law, RERA, land acquisition, stamp duty, registration, and municipal regulations.


· Demonstrated experience in handling large-scale real estate transactions, due diligence, and title verification.


· Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.


· Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under tight deadlines.


· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.


· High level of integrity, professionalism, and business acumen.
